Despite their age, DVDs and especially CDs continue to be extremely popular. That's because they are very cheap and can store a reasonable amount of data. Not to mention the fact that there are numerous devices that support them. Take audio CDs, for example. There are a lot of media players that can handle them. But despite of its huge popularity, CD discs are extremely fragile and even the smallest scratch can ruin a disc, compromising all the important information stored on it. Because the size of hard disks nowadays has become extremely high and the price isn't a problem anymore, it would be a good idea to copy all your CD collection to the hard disk, for keeping it safe, away from data corruption and scratches. A software that can help you in this matter is ISO Workshop. As the name states, the program allows the creation of ISO images from any CD or DVD, but it can do much more than this.

ISO Workshop is not difficult to install. The only thing a user should pay attention to is deselecting the installation of a toolbar during the setup process. Not giving the right attention to this may result in a toolbar installation even if the user doesn't want it. Any version of the Windows operating system is supported for running the program. Taking up little hard disk space and requiring low system resources, the software is ideal for older computers.

The interface of ISO Workshop has four graphical buttons. These allow extracting files and folders from an already created ISO image and other image formats. Even if the name of the software includes the ISO word, the program doesn't support only ISO image files. Discs can also be backed up as image files, which can then be used to burn another CD.

The button system is created in such a way that everyone can use it without any problems. The number of supported image formats is impressive and covers the most used image formats available today. Any image format can be converted into ISO or BIN with the help of ISO Workshop.

Pros

It features a simple graphical interface that allows anyone to access the program's features in the easiest way possible. Besides that, it supports a wide range of image file formats. Furthermore, it can convert a format to another and can extract all the files and folders from an image file.

Cons

The number of settings and options is extremely limited. For example, there isn't any option for setting the CD burning speed. ISO Workshop is a useful software for creating image files from any CD or DVD.
